Analyze the Golden Rule as Expressed in the World’s Religions

Paper assignment: Research, discuss, and interpret your understanding of the golden rule as expressed in the World’s religions.
All major religions have the concept of the Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ Not always the same words but the same meaning.

Religions to discuss: Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Confucianism, and Hinduism.

Some of the teachings of the Golden Rule in various religions:

No one is a true believer unless he desireth for his brother that which desireth for himself -Islam

In everything do to others as you would have them do to you -Christianity

What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor- Judaism”

Notice how there are both similarities and differences in these statements. For example, Islam is talking about desiring while Judaism is talking about doing.
Christanitys quote is more about how you should treat people well because it’s the way you would want to be treated. Judaism is about how you should not treat people poorly because you wouldn’t want that done to you. Christanity makes you think about behaviors you should do, Judaism makes you think about behaviors you should not do.

Use both religious and philosophical sources. (Encyclopedia of religion and philosophy)
