Based on the Color Purple Book (if gender equality has been reached in American society today and how is this shown in within the book)

An Annotated Bibliography provides specific information about each source you have used. As a researcher and critical thinker, you have the ability to both: explain the content and to assess the usefulness of your sources for those not in the know. Think of your research paper as part of a conversation with others interested in the same thing(s) you are, while the annotated bibliography allows you to tell readers what might be worth checking out in some situations and what might not be worth spending the time on.

Essentially, this assignment consists of two elements that will be blended together:

A Works Cited page in MLA format that lists 07 of the research sources you found for your final paper.
A mini-evaluation immediately following 05 of the 07 of these sources that shows how and why that particular source will be useful to your final paper (or not).
PROMPT FOR ESSAY: Question and determine if gender equality has been reached in American society today, and how is this shown, if at all, within Alice Walkers The Color Purple? eflect on modern society and the status of gender equality while thinking about the themes and characters that Walkers novel presents. In what ways are the relationships between genders in todays society mirrored within Walker’s novel? For each similarity and difference that is pinpointed, analyze the significance of it, determining whether it is positive or negative. Use the novel to express the state of present days gender equality.
Your entry should be between 200 – 300 words per annotation. This evaluation should include your interpretation of the sources thesis or overall focus.
Your Annotated Bibliography will have 07 sources listed. Of those sources:

At least 2 will be academic journal article sources retrieved from the school database.
Again, 05 of the 07 sources should be annotated (The Color Purple does count as one source). Typically, everything should be double-spaced, in accordance with MLA standards, but you may single-space both the citations and annotations to make it more reader-friendly. Entries should be organized in alphabetical order, just like in a usual Works Cited.

Remember, this is an assignment to demonstrate the range of research you’ll be doing for your final essay. You won’t be expected to use all of these sources in your final paper, and if you find more after you’ve turned this in, you can use those instead. The Annotated Bibliography is a snapshot of where you are in the research process at this particular point in time.

Your 05 annotations out of the listed 07 should address at least some of the following points:

How you found the source (especially for the non-library sources)
Why you find this source trustworthy (or not)
Why you find this source useful for your essay (or not)
Whether or not you think this source will find its way into your essay draft
What specifically from the source you might use (such as a particular passage, quote, or statistic)
