This is a research proposal for my Masters in Chinese Law. I want to propose that the Rule of Law can successfully be implemented in the Chinese political and legal system. I want to focus on the fact that there are skeptical conclusions based upon western democratic definition of the rule of law, which express a poor understanding of Chinas complex political tradition and history. I want this study to explore the traditional rule of law model and propose an alternative which is to a large extent evident in Chinas current political and legal system. This requires that a more profound understanding of the socialist rule of law be achieved; an understanding which is readily provided by China.
