Within each goal are many issues that, if addressed successfully, may have a positive impact on outcomes. For example, healthcare leaders are being tasked to shift from an emphasis on disease management often provided in an acute care setting to health promotion and disease prevention delivered in primary care settings. Efforts in this area can have significant positive impacts by reducing the need for primary healthcare and by reducing the stress on the healthcare system.
Changes in the industry only serve to stress what has always been true; namely, that the healthcare field has always faced significant challenges, and that goals to improve healthcare will always involve multiple stakeholders. This should not seem surprising given the circumstances. Indeed, when a growing population needs care, there are factors involved such as the demands of providing that care and the rising costs associated with healthcare. Generally, it is not surprising that the field of healthcare is an industry facing multifaceted issues that evolve over time.
In this modules Discussion, you reviewed some healthcare issues/stressors and selected one for further review. For this Assignment, you will consider in more detail the healthcare issue/stressor you selected. You will also review research that addresses the issue/stressor and write a white paper to your organizations leadership that addresses the issue/stressor you selected.

National Healthcare Issue: COVID-19
Previously, the national health sector globally was focusing on individual patient care. However, the current situation has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, where healthcare services are rather concerned about public health (Alajmi et al., 2020). Enabling these kinds of changes is challenging for any healthcare service. They need to alter how they operate, think, and act on the entire change of approach. Moreover, a common element in the pandemic is the higher volume of patients who visit the healthcare facilities all at once. This has negatively affected even highly established healthcare systems, which have never thought or experienced this high magnitude of patients and required resources. As a result, coping with this situation is most challenging (Kniffin et al., 2021). The service disruptions are prevalent, where health services have been entirely or partially disrupted even in developed countries. For example, most hospitals have entirely or partially disrupted healthcare services for cardiovascular emergencies, diabetes and associated complications, and hypertension intervention.
Our organization has designed and adopted prevention and control measures. Curbing the continuity of infection by the virus to hospital occupants (patients and employees) is a top priority and necessitates relevant measures (Lancet, 2020). Management teams have reviewed and designed the virus inhibition and regulating processes. The team has also considered that additional prevention and control strategies and approaches might be needed to adjust to the particular condition of the pandemic. In the present state, healthcare employees have been expected to exceed their daily routine tasks and assume some works they are quite unfamiliar with and are anticipated to engage in the current stressful setting. Therefore, training of healthcare staff is paramount in the current condition (Trougakos, Chawla, & McCarthy, 2020). All employees, regardless of their individual, departmental, healthcare duties, have been involved in the disaster and emergency plan system to achieve such new demands.
