Write a coherent, well-organized response to at least two of this week’s readings, on key theoretical concepts in the study of sexuality and gender and/or on the intersection of various identities with sexuality and gender.

This kind of response is meant to be analytical rather than reactive. In other words, it is not important for the purposes of this paper whether you liked or even agreed with the readings you choose. At the most basic level, your response should demonstrate your understanding of their main arguments with a very brief summary. At the next level, you should be able to articulate how these readings complement or contrast with one another, and to say something about what value they have (or don’t have; it’s okay to argue against them) for the study of sexuality and gender. For the analytical portion, you will need to go beyond just summarizing and comparing/contrasting. Consider, for example, the effect of these theories or ideas on everyday life, on public policy, and so forth.

A good strategy to take you beyond just summarizing and comparing is to look for two or more pieces that address the same concept or theory, perhaps from different perspectives. Then build your response around that idea. See me if you need suggestions for how to make this work.

Be sure to organize your essay so that it has an introduction and a conclusion, and be sure that your analysis comes from a place of scholarship. In other words, your arguments need to be supported with material from the readings themselves rather than personal opinion. Let me know if you have any questions regarding this.

What resources are available in your community to help people recover from a stroke (e.g, aphasia groups and other support networks)?

You must write at least 1000 words for the body of the paper. It’s fine to go a little longer if you want – there’s no penalty for that. No separate title page is required. Please include three references using APA style formatting. The reference list does not count as part of the 1000 words. The references may not include the course textbook or WIKIPEDIA. However, other Internet sources, books or articles are appropriate.

SELECT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TOPICS TO WRITE ABOUT. The examples that accompany each topic are only general suggestions. You do not need to write about these specific things; they are only listed to give you an idea of what might work for you. Be creative and learn something that you want to know, rather than trying to match what you think I want. If you write about more general topics (ethics, imaging, etc.) you don’t have to make it specific to the field of SLP.

Medical Ethics – e.g., case studies of challenging medical ethical issues; compare legal and ethical principles; what harm can be done from an ethical breach? why are ethics so important in medicine?

Aphasia – e.g., what resources are available in your community to help people recover from a stroke (e.g, aphasia groups and other support networks)? write about an individual you know who has had a stroke and what their process of rehabilitation has been like

What does the professional and scholarly literature say about the needs of this or similar communities?

The purpose of this assignment is to construct a community analysis that will serve as a basis for the Library Service Proposal.

Through this assignment, you will collect data on a population of your choice and present an analysis of that population in a paper. When choosing your population, you should start by selecting a library and a surrounding community. Your selected population should be a part of this community.

LIBRARY SELECTED: The University of Georgia Libraries

Also include the attributes of this community that you think will be the most challenging for your library to address. Explain why you think these attributes are challenging.
Your description should also include information about the library and the community as well. This could include information about that community (median income, population demographics, size, etc.) and information about the library within that community. Use these questions as a guide to what information might be most useful to include:

The Persecution of Religious Minorities in the Middle East in 2021
Islamic Republic of Iran
Background
The Islamic Republic of Iran is a theocratic, authoritarian state with restricted political participation. Ninety to 95 percent of the population are Shia Muslim, while Sunni Muslims account for 510 percent. Approximately 0.3 percent ascribe to other religions, including the Bahai faith, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Judaism. While the Jaafari (Twelver) school of Shia Islam is the official religion, the con-stitution extends full respect to the five major Sunni schools. It also recognizes Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians as protected minorities. Five of the parliaments 290 seats are reserved for religious minori-tiestwo for Armenian Christians and one each for Assyrian/Chaldean Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians. There are two Hindu temples, and Buddhism has historic influences. Iran is home to several other religious groups that face persecution, including Mandeans, Yarsanis, nonbelievers, and followers of spiritual movements. In December 2016, President Hassan Rouhani publicly released a nonbinding Charter on Citizens Rights, but religious minorities have seen little change based on this document.

Persecution of Religious Minorities
In May, officials at Fashafoye Prison denied medical care to Sufi prison-ers and moved four Sufis into Ward 5 of the prison, where there were known cases of COVID-19. In September, officials at Evin Prison gave medicines to Sufi activist Benham Majoubi without his consent that caused limb numbness, paralysis, and loss of consciousness. Officials then sent Majoubi to Aminabad Hospital while denying him access to crucial medicine. Mahjoubi died in February 2021.Iran also escalated its persecution of Christians in 2020, par-ticularly converts from Islam. Officials lashed Christian convert Mohammed Reza Omidi 80 times for drinking communion wine in October following his completion of a two-year sentence for partic-ipation in a house church. In February, the IRGC arrested Christian convert Mary Mohammadi at a peaceful protest in Tehran. She was held incognito and subjected to beatings and sexual assault at the Vozara Detention Center. At a court hearing in April, Judge Javad Ahmadi from Branch 1167 of the Criminal Court of Tehran asked Mohammadi repeated questions about her faith and conversion from Islam to Christianity that had no bearing on her charge of disturbing public order. In April she was sentenced to three months and one day in prison and ten lashes. However, her sentence was suspended for a year. In January 2020, Branch 105 of the Civil Court in Shiraz sentenced Christian convert Ismaeil Maghrebinejad to three years in prison for insulting Islamic sacred beliefs.
