In Francisco Jimenezs book Breaking Through, one of the most important themes is breaking down barriers. In order for Francisco to break down the barriers in his life, he needed to have a readiness for the people and experiences around him.
In Breaking Through, Francisco narrates his experiences and those of his family living and growing up in California. Together, they faced obstacles including racism, poverty, and many other hardships.
