[order_calculator]Question of the course work
In Ferson Contractors Ltd v Levolux AT Ltd [2002] EWCA Civ 11, the Court of Appeal stated that ‘the character of s.108 Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 was ‘draconian’ (‘harsh, severe, cruel’). The process is swift and an effective means of resolving disputes and, where the adjudicator is wrong, the matter can be corrected in subsequent arbitration or litigation. According to HHJ Coulson QC’s description in Harlow & Milner Ltd v Mrs Linda Teasdale [2006] EWHC 1708 (TCC), this can lead to ‘clear but sometimes harsh consequences’.
Is this assessment of the introduction of adjudication still correct?

Because is a law assignment I am not sure about the number of sources specialy because we have to use other cases as well to prove our point.
We have to mention Local democracy, economic development and construction Act 2009 (LDEDC Act) and s.108 Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (HGCRA 1996) and Latham report

[order_calculator]Report 1: Sustainable development at the rural-urban interface
Weighting: 15%
Due: 8 April, 11:00PM, submitted online. The due date allows 6 weeks of preparation and extension applications are unlikely to be successful.
Expected length: 1500 words (excluding bibliography).
Core Objectives
The core objectives being assessed are:
CO2. describe and explain principles & concepts of contemporary land use planning
CO3. explain the main features of urban & rural land use systems
Assessment Description
General description of assessment
You are a consultant and you have been asked to provide advice to a developer during the early stages of a development on the urban-rural interface of a town. The developer is seeking advice on how to make the development sustainable and minimize conflict with adjacent land uses. You will need to validate your ideas and recommendations with suitable research and references.
Client letter
Sustainability Plus Developments Pty Ltd
North Terrace, Adelaide
1/3/2015
Dear Student Consultant,
Sustainability Plus Developments are in the early stages of planning a new 20 ha development called Rural Vistas on the outskirts of Pleasantville. Pleasantville is an expanding regional town, which is located in a productive agricultural area. The Rural Vistas development will be adjacent to a vegetable farm and there is also a creek running around part of the boundary of the development.
Sustainability Plus Developments pride themselves on creating rural housing developments that meet three objectives:
houses that have a low ecological footprint
maximize integration with the existing town
minimize the impact on and from adjacent land uses
As a leading developer, Sustainability Plus Developments takes a proactive approach to planning its developments. We are aware that rural housing developments can receive criticism that they are ‘just another’ urban development that impacts negatively on the very essence of what makes rural living attractive. We are also anticipating concern about the impact of the development on the creek and the neighbouring vegetable farm and the impact of these adjacent land uses on the development.
With these concerns in mind, Sustainability Plus Developments is requesting your expert advice on how it can achieve its three development objectives. We are requesting a report that outlines the opportunities and issues and makes recommendations with respect to the objectives. We are particularly interested to receive advice on where planning controls, such as encumbrances and land management plans, could be used to help achieve a sustainable rural housing development on the outskirts of Pleasantville.
I require your report by 11:00pm, Wednesday, April 8 2014 submitted electronically to our system.
Yours Sincerely,
Ms Wanabe Green – Principal Project Manager ‘Rural Vistas’
Guidance on this report
Urban-rural interface – this report is not about any specific town. But you might find it useful to research townships in areas such as the Adelaide Hills, where there has been rapid housing development in a rural area.
Read the assessment description carefully. This report has a broad focus and you will need to research widely but then synthesise and summarise creatively.
Report language & writing style – this is a professional business report, please use an appropriate level of formality but not overly technical. Written communication skills are an important part of all business communication: clear, concise, logically ordered and grammatically correct. If written English is not your strength please use the resources below to get support in improving your written skills.
Report structure – use the suggested resource below to gain an understanding of report writing. Your report is an analytical-style report and it is expected that you will include the following sections: title, introduction, overview of literature/prior research, recommendations and a bibliography. The ‘meat’ of this report, and the credibility of your recommendations, is based on the literature review/research and your synthesis of this into key findings. There is a ‘tight’ word count for this report – you can’t afford to waffle or waste words with unnecessary duplication. The bibliography is not included in the word count.
Referencing – use the Harvard referencing style. Make sure you understand the difference between a reference list and a bibliography. Referencing can be tricky but it is well-explained through the suggested resources and there is no excuse to lose marks through poor referencing. As a rough guide you should use a minimum of 5 credible and relevant resources. But the more you read, the more you will learn and the quality of your report will be improved.
Submission, marking and return of assignment
This report must be completed over 6 weeks and only unexpected or exceptional circumstances will be considered a good cause for an extension in the final week as described in Section 7.8 of the 2015 UniSA Assessment Policy and Procedures Manual. If you are not going to be available for an extended period of time you will need to apply for a variation to assessment in line with Section 7 of the aforementioned Manual. Without an extension, students will not be able to submit the assignment after the due date.
If you have a disability access plan it is also essential that you discuss any requirements for ongoing assistance or extension of time during the study period based upon your progress.
Staff will aim to mark assignments within 2 weeks of receiving them.
A mark and comment for this assignment will be provided through the learn-online grade book system.
Each section will be marked against the standards specified in the feedback form. Comments for this assignment will be provided on a feedback form in compliance with the University assessment policies and procedures. You will find the feedback form, that will be used for this assignment, on the course web site.

[order_calculator]Watch the clip listed below.
In the article, ‘Delirious Enchantment’, Adrian Martin writes of the ‘inseparable fusion’ of form and content, describing them as ‘equal partners’. He says that, in the best films, ‘everything has got to move and mutate in concert’.
Drawing on key concepts raised in Martin’s article, discuss how the specific elements he refers to as ‘representational’ and ‘non-representational’ work together to produce the scene in the clip you have viewed. How does everything in this scene ‘move and mutate in concert’? How do you think this effects the way we as viewers experience the scene?
HERO:
This question requires you to do three things. Make sure you do all three:
1. Explain how you understand the concepts
2. Apply the concepts to a close analysis of the scene
3. Use what you discover in your analysis of the scene to answer the three questions above
To prepare for this question, review the way Martin explains these terms. Watch the clip several times and think about how the concepts might apply to this scene. This is not a research task. You are asked to think about the concepts, think about how they can help you to understand how the scene works and apply them to your own analysis. You must not draw on reviews of the film from other sources. Your examples should refer only to this scene, not to other parts of the film.

[order_calculator]I’m taking a communication course on “race and media”.
I haven’t picked a specific research questions and thesis so you are welcome to talk about any topic related to “race and media” that you find interesting.
Drawing on your research questions and thesis you will examine a site of study and how it is an example of the larger theoretical argument you’re making. Your site of analysis can range from being an advertising campaign, a film, media coverage of an event, etc. the purpose of the case study is to provide you with a specific example that you can refer to when you’re making a broader argument.
This is a research paper, you are expected to conduct research, using a clear methodology that will generate “data” for you to discuss. In a sense your paper will be a presentation of the data that you’ve collected from your case study.
You will be using this data to prove your thesis and use scholarly sources to substantiate how your findings line up with current academic research that examines similar or parallel problematics.
-minimum 10 different scholarly / peer reviewed sources.
I will upload pdf guidelines with more specific information.
Please follow all the criteria accordingly, and mind the deadlines. I couldn’t give any extra time since its gonna be due.

[order_calculator]You are required to plan and write an essay that answers ONE of the following three questions:(words no more than 1150)
1. To suggest that reform in public relations is impossible is an excuse for inaction. Explain the difficulties in practice with either the ‘big tobacco’ and/or James Hardie case studies but how ethical communication and critically reflective practice may provide a means of approaching public relations from a socially beneficial perspective.
2. Why is it important to ensure that there are ‘many voices’ advocating for change in society? Use ethical theory and any other theoretical perspectives discussed so far to examine the PR used in either the ‘big tobacco’ and/or James Hardie case studies.
3. What is a reflective practice and how might developing this as a personal ethic help to make better decisions as a public communicator. Discuss drawing on the ‘big tobacco’ and/or James Hardie case studies and any of the ethical theoretical perspectives covered so far in this unit.
