DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT—Incorporates evidence with excellent focus and reasoned explanation. Adequately cites evidence with appropriate attribution. Some minor errors in citation mechanics are apparent. The writer uses sources effectively. Quotations are integrated into sentences, and their relevance is adequately explained. Demonstrates outstanding skill in the elements of summary, paraphrase and quotations.

ORGANIZATION:CLARITY AND COHESION OF STRUCTURE—- sustains a very well organized, highly focused essay, connecting ideas smoothly and logically, demonstrates very clear coherence and progression. The introduction, body and conclusion are very effectively structured and unified, with a clear sense of resolution.

MECHANICS AND STYLE—exhibits skillful use of language, using generally appropriate vocabulary, with some variety in sentence structure. Voice and style are competent. Reflects thorough attention to revision and proofreading. The writer uses MLA citation correcly.
