Choose a public health policy or problem on which you would like to focus your efforts this semester.

Directions:

1. Choose a public health policy or problem on which you would like to focus your efforts this semester. You may initially select a broad policy area like children’s health, mental health, access to insurance, and, over the semester, find that you want to/need to narrow your focus. Start by doing a background research into your policy area of interest. Write a 3-page paper in which you describe the specific policy area, explain why you care about this issue and lay out the reasons why the public should be concerned about this issue. The format should be as follows:

Problem: What is the problem Issue. How do you know? (What evidence or data tells you this is a problem) – Use data and cite your sources both within the body of the paper and at the end in a reference list. I suggest you start with an issue that appears in the CDC A to Z list. http://www.cdc.gov/az/. Find something that interests (alphabetical list) you, then click on that item. You will get all sorts of information and data. (Do not plagiarize) Articles from the Regis Library can be found at https://libguides.regiscollege.edu/
2. Why do you personally care about this issue?
3. Why should others care about this issue?
