Civil Engineering- Retaining walls

I am going to send you two retaining walls solved problems, and what I need you to do is explain every step focusing on the calculations, and where did we got those numbers from. I want to understand it real well. Don’t talk about the conceptual part I am going to understand it by myself unless you reach some points that you feel that you want to talk about it briefly. I am going to ask you some questions here just to give you an example what I am looking for, and sure I need you to answer those questions.

In the first problem:

* What is M and how do we get it? ( don’t just put the numbers for me I need an (explanation).
* How did we get 23.3 at the very bottom?
I am looking for the answers and remember these questions are not all the steps, explain the other steps.
