BELOW ARE NOTES FROM THE INSTRUCTOR ON MY ESSAY 2 PAPER (IMPROVMENT)

Consider how the title draws in the audience. A title is an opportunity to tell your audience your topic as well as your intent. It acts, in essence, like a thesis guiding the audience to your argument.

Remember to pay attention to the details, such as the heading, as well as listing statements versus connecting sentences to build a paragraph.

One strategy to prevent wandering and listing sentences without relating them is to write a sentence and then ask a “wh” -question about that sentence, such as how, why, in what way, and so forth, and select one to answer to insure coherence.

Transitions ro reading aloud is another strategy.

You do not need to state what the thesis of the essay is, rather you want to present the thesis.

What is the argument? A thesis is the how and why of your topic, and tells us what we need to do/think/realize/act upon. It is not just a statement about the information that will be presented.

An essay is an opportunity to argue your case, that is, what you think and why you think it, to convince an audience to accept your position and point of view.

Evidence does not speak for itself and in text citation should follow MLA format in this case (see week zero).
