The following components/sections should be included in your Current Events submission.
1.Article title (2 pts.): What is the title of the article? Exact wording
2.Article source (3 pts.):Using the APA style of citation, cite the source of your article; ANDInclude web link to the article, blog, etc.
3. Summary (10 pts.) Briefly and in your own words, summarize the content of the article. (5) sentence minimum.
Be sure to discuss the main points of the article so that your reader gets a good sense of whats being discussed without actually having to read the article.
IMPORTANT: Your summary should not be longer (or nearly as long) as the actual article.
4.Reaction (5 pts.) In a minimum of five (five) sentences
take a position on the issue contained in the article (if appropriate).
Discuss how do you feel about this topic, or about the authors perspective on in the issue if that perspective is apparent).
5.Impact (5 pts) In a minimum of five (5) sentences discuss:
how the topic being discussed impact you, government, society, etc.
What are the short- and or long-term implications of the topic/issue.
Additional criteria on which your submission will be graded include grammar (5 pts) and topic relevance (5 pts) (see the complete grading rubric below)
Your submission should be written in paragraph form with good sentence structure, and proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Write the paper in your own words. If you need to use a short quote, cite properly using the APA style.
Your submission is not a simple critique of whether the article is good or bad. This assignment is designed to allow you to present a reasoned opinion of the issue presented, and to get you to explore your attitudes/thoughts/beliefs/concepts relating to government budgeting, finance, fiscal policy, and other related areas.
