Each week you will engage with selected chapters in both of the required textbooks for module one of this course. The selected readings are outlined in your syllabus, as well as in the table below. The structure for your analysis is a comparison and contrast essay. This essay should summarize the chapters in each text by comparing and contrasting them. Be sure to highlight similarities and differences from the texts. As noted in your syllabus, you should leverage APA citiations when necessary. This week you should analyze chapters one and two from Smith and chapters one and two from Witzel by writing a comparison and contrast essay. Your essay should be completed in Microsoft Word and should be uploaded as a Word Document file format. The purpose of uploading in this format, is to allow me to provide feedback via comments on your document. It will also assist you with the APA requirements as outlined in your syllabus. You can refer to the rubric to ensure you are analyzing your chapters correctly. Remember, this will be a weekly requirement, so start reading and annotating your text books early. This assignment is an out of class assignment. Keep in mind that we have 86 hours of work that resides outside our classwork. The readings and summary will account for some of your outside of class time. This week’s readings and analysis will account for four hours of outside course work.
