Over the course of the fourth century, however, Christianity first became legalized, and then became the favored religion of the Roman Empire. Yet Christians were unwilling to abandon the prophecies of Revelation; they simply updated them with new meanings. Compose a paper that shows how apocalyptic rhetoric was forced to adjust, over the course of the third through fifth centuries, in order to account for the changing geopolitical fortunes of Christianity.
