Review the following 12 states found within the United States and choose one state from each group.

Information that you will be researching must include:
Total population of each state chosen
Total population of each state chosen that has contracted COVID
Total number who have died from COVID in each state chosen
Total number of deaths broken down into ethnic groups within each state chosen (White Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, Native American, Asian Americans and any other minority groups that might appear in your data)
Why the COVID virus may be higher or lower in your chosen states (Examples: Higher concentration of larger cities within the state, a large senior citizen population, less populated states, etc.)
Lastly, you are to imagine yourself as a key official of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institute of Health and you have been assigned to head up the National Pandemic Task Force. You and your team have just been notified that a second round of the virus is ramping up and spreading across the United States. Your job is to determine what went wrong and what went right during the first wave regarding treatment of the pandemic and what you will do to bring down the statistics regarding new contractions and deaths caused during the second round of the virus.
You will write your essay based on the information determined in #s 2. 3. & 4. above.
At the end of your essay, you must have a separate paragraph titled Conclusion. This paragraph must restate your overall plan and express your thoughts regarding what you found in your research and according to your three chosen states, how treatment may have differed from one state to another during the first wave of the pandemic.
Using the data gathered from # 3 (bullets 1-2-3-4), you are to create a bar chart(s) for each state using the data found in # 3. Bar charts are to be done on a separate page.
The final page should be a Reference Page, listing the sources used to determine information found when completing # 3. above. Total assignment should be no less than five (5) pages.

Within the essay, you must present all the information for each state separately before proceeding to the next state.

HOW TO CREATE A BAR CHART
You MUST have Microsoft Word. If you do not, then go to a TJC computer that does.
Create a NEW document, then click on “Insert” (3rd tab from the left)
Click on “Chart” (This will give you several options). Click on “Bar” and use the first chart sample on the left.
You will then load in your variables (on the left side of the excel spreadsheet) and the numbers that go with each variable.
Name your bar chart at the top.
