Please understand that it is your responsibility to find something that you will be able to follow along (even if it’s all in French) so if you do not understand French at all, I would recommend selecting something that you are more familiar with, like the French version of an American reality show such as American Idol). opinion (what did you think of it? did you like it? Were there things you did not understand due to cultural differences? Or things that surprised you? Were there elements of the show you did not like it and why?)
cultural comparison (think about how such a show would translate in the US. Do you think Americans would like it? Why or why not? How different is it from American shows? How similar? Did you notice anything that was specific to the French culture? Were you able to identify elements of French culture–whether in the setting if you watched fiction or in the guests/audience/etc if you watched reality tv?)
Essay must be typed, double-spaced, minimum 800 words. Please use Times New Roman, 12 pt font and standard margins (1 in).
