Requirement: Describe a community to which you are strongly drawn and identify with. (SINGLE SPACE) A community can be geographical, social, cultural, religious, occupational, media-related, or avocational, as well as many other things. Some students in past classes have successfully identified themselves, for example, as women, or as Muslims, or athletes. Others have identified themselves as gamers, sneaker collectors, artists, or bloggers. The important thing is to choose a community that really matters to youor you will be very bored this term. Highlight one significant current issue in that community that you care about. Locate an article from a newspaper or magazine or social-media post that addresses the issue. (Use Google if you like.) You will by February 19 5 incorporate this issue, as well as your characterization of the community that defines its size and scope, into a 34-page paper. As you can see in my Sample Identification Paper PDF, I encourage you to combine personal narrative with expository detail about your community, and to write in an informal, easy-to-read manner and enjoy doing it. (The remaining papers you write in this course will all focus in various ways on this issue.) View TEDTalk: How Painting Can Transform a Community. What surprised you about it? * I must add a personal experience or family/ friend thought. for example, what they think about this particular community and what can we do to fix this issue. I chose the Muslim community around the world(no specific country) but socially in the USA, and that they need a strong Islamic media to define and defend Muslims from getting accusations and names all the time
