Welcome to Week 2- Quantitative Methods (Module Overview)
When we think of research, we tend to think of a scientist in a white lab coat doing an experiment that involves some type of experimental treatment and a control group that doesn’t receive that treatment. That picture of research involves gathering information and analyzing that data to determine if the treatment worked or not. Because the research focuses on collecting data about a problem it is referred to as quantitative research. All the issues related to setting up a study and designing it to accurately answer the question/s posed is called research design.
