DUE DATE 7/1- This assignment has two parts: (1) The Categorization Chart below must be filled in properly and (2) The Categorization Essay. The chart should be done first as it will help you write the essay.
Using your Categorization Chart, write an essay describing how well the sources you found support your working thesis or work for your essay. Please include how and why these sources support your research paper. Describe in detail how you can use the sources that don’t immediately seem to benefit your working thesis? How can you still apply them in your essay?
Follow the outline for the Categorization Essay below:
Introduction paragraph with your working thesis
Body paragraph 1 about your first source on your chart.
Body paragraph 2 about your second source on your chart.
Body paragraph 3 about your third source on your chart.
Body paragraph 4 about your fourth source on your chart.
Body paragraph 5 about your fifth source on your chart.
Conclusion paragraph where you discuss how analyzing your sources made you feel about the research you have done so far. Do you feel ready to write the research paper or do you need to do more research? Describe if you will have to get rid of sources, continue to find sources, change your strategy for finding sources, etc.
You will not get an “A” on this assignment unless you hand in both (1) the Categorization Chart and (2) the Categorization Essay with an APA Reference page for all sources included in your essay.
***NOTE: If you have more than 5 body paragraphs and thereby more than 5 sources, then you will receive 5 points extra credit only if the minimum requirements for an “A” are met as indicated above.
