(#3 Discussion) In the past 15-20 years regarding the 2nd amendment i believe that individuals does not have a right to bear arms. With this amendment I don’t typically think they follow this because New Jersians are not to possess a weapon on them outside of the home period. If going to a gun range, the bullets have to be in one area and the gun has to be in another. The whole point of having a weapon is to protect yourself against any danger or harm. The denials of certiorari regarding individuals rights versus the ones who have the right to bear arms are also restricted. For instance, California law is requiring good cause to obtain a concealed handgun carry license outside the home, where open carry of handgun is also prohibited. so my point in this is that we are still limited to this amendment.
My position on gun control can be bad and good for some. This will allow those who have been killed for absolutely nothing, a right to protect themselves. For instance if George Floyd or Walter Wallace Jr. had a weapon to protect themselves it would be a different scenario and they wouldn’t have been killed for nothing. But if they did have a weapon those police officers might would have gotten away with doing what they did. Another example with people being in the hood and not having anything to protect themselves with if they get robbed. There is good and bad to having a right to bear arms because it will bring a lot more destruction to the community.
