Guidelines for writing Research Paper:
Begin by finding an illustration (picture) out of a newspaper, magazine, book,
internet or any reputable source that depicts a social problem in society today.
Include this picture in your research paper.
Describe what you think is going on in the picture. What is the social problem
represented in the picture?
Within the content area of your paper you should write about this social
problem. Include facts, data, statistics in your paper and then analyze and
discuss this information with thoughtful analysis.
Remember to use your Sociological Imagination.
All Research Papers must include:
Cover sheet with: First and Last Name / Course / Date / Title
Illustration (picture) on separate sheet with identification of social problem listed
underneath picture.
Content of paper should include an introduction, body, and conclusion (the
content section should be a minimum of 4 pages typed / double spaced).
Citation Page (Work Cited): If there is no Citation Page it is considered plagiarism
and is an automatic F.
No less than 3 sources must be cited or points will be taken off.
