DEVELOPING YOUR OWN ARGUMENT
Select a topic. In an essay of 500 words, state a claim and support it with evidence. Choose an issue in which you are genuinely interested and about which you already have some knowledge. You may wish to interview a few experts and research empirical data/reliable sources as necessary. You are expected to demonstrate all of the rules of essay writing including:
– a topic (It must be an arguable topic.)
-a thesis statement within the introduction
-organized, well-structured body paragraphs
a conclusion
*State your claim and support it with evidence. Bring your essay to a logical conclusion.
If you cite any sources, use either MLA or APA style to acknowledge your sources. (N.B. This is an essay not a research paper.)
