I have attached a file that has my PICO question 6 articles that you can use for this assignment. You may use others of your choice if you have any primary research articles that fit but please include some from the list. Below is some material from my instructor. Hope it helps.
For your Milestone Three assignment this week you are constructing an Annotated Bibliography. An annotated bibliography is an organized, alphabetical list of sources with an accompanying paragraph that describes and evaluates each source in terms of quality and relevance to your PICO question.
Your annotated bibliography should incorporate at least six PRIMARY research articles.
For each article, you need to include the citation in correct APA format and an annotation that:
restates the thesis (or research question or hypothesis), research methods, and conclusion
evaluates the source in terms of quality of the research process (i.e. methods)
LOOK AT THIS RESOURCE ABOUT EVALUATING QUALITY
and provides a stated connection between the source and your PICO question
To evaluate quality, address some of the following questions:
If the study were to be done a second time, in exactly the same way, would it yield the same results?
Did the instruments or procedures used in the research measure what they were supposed to measure?
Can the results be generalized beyond the immediate study? Do the findings apply to people beyond the sample in the study?
Did the researchers use research methods that are well established?
Was there random sampling of the individuals?
Are the researchers qualified and experienced?
Were the processes within the study reported in enough detail that a future researcher could repeat the work?
This is an example entry in an annotated bibliography. You should write a similar one for each of your six research articles:
Jeong, I., & Kim, J. (2018). The relationship between intention to leave the hospital and coping methods of emergency nurses after workplace violence. Journal of Clinical Nursing, 27(7-8), 1692-1701.
The study was conducted to explore the coping methods of emergency nurses who have experienced violence from patients and patients relatives and determine if a relationship exists between the nurses coping methods and intention to leave the hospital after experiencing workplace violence. This was a descriptive study design. The sample was a convenience sample of emergency department nurses in seven hospitals. Questionnaires were used to collect data and they were analyzed using SPSS statistics. In terms of quality, the results have limited generalizability due to the convenience sampling. The nurses were asked to remember and recall their experiences so recall bias could affect the accuracy of the data. In addition, all variables that can influence intention to leave cannot be controlled. The results found that the overall physical threat rate was 77.6%. 61% of the participants considered leaving the hospital and women were two times more likely to leave after experiencing violence than men. The study is connected to the PICO question because it explores coping mechanisms used when nurses experience workplace violence.
