I’m a Master student in Business Engineer (with a Business Analytics major). I need to craft a Master thesis topic (a proposal, that a professor will aggree to supervise). So far I have a theme but i still need to craft a topic around this theme.

THEME :Data mining machine learning – Models and techniques for graph and social network mining

During this work, we will be interested in graph mining algorithms allowing, for example, to calculate measures of centrality or to calculate nodes of a network, etc.

DETAILED INFO: Indeed, social networks are more and more present and are becoming an object of study in themselves. The main objective will be to study algorithms allowing to analyze graphs or networks in particular, to compute importance measures of nodes, to categorize nodes (classification and clustering) and to compute the most similar nodes. We will also compare the performance of some algorithms in semi-supervised classification tasks or clustering of nodes in a graph.

This is a research & development work, which will be done mainly in Matlab.
