Write an introduction according to the guidelines that we studied. (Check page 166) The beginning of the introduction must be about the topic, but it does not discuss the details that will be in the controlling idea in the thesis statement.
The introduction must end in a thesis statement that contains the main idea of the research paper = Topic and Controlling Idea. (Check from page 155 to 158)
The research paper must have three body paragraphs as supporting points.
Each body paragraph must have a topic sentence that relates to the thesis statement.
The ideas in the body paragraph must be your own, in your own sentences. In this part, the essay must not have sentences that are copied from other sources.
Each paragraph must have one quote or paraphrase with correct citation. Follow MLA style, as studied in the class.
The conclusion must follow the guidelines that we have studied. (Check page 169.)
The last page must have the Works Cited in MLA style, as studied in class.
The five paragraphs in the research paper must have a total of 600 or more words. The words in the page Works Cited do not count.
