Community Release Programs aka Halfway Houses is a program for inmates who have less than 24 months remaining on their sentence. Halfway Houses are privately run and do not have NJDOC custody staff overseeing the daily activity. However, if an inmate commits a disciplinary infraction, he/she will be returned to the custody of the NJDOC.
