I .It would be difficult to look at the educational history of the U.S. or the individual states and discuss reform without looking at how court decisions influence what happens in schools and districts. For this exercise, search a legal website such as Findlaw.com or LexisNexis (which is available through most college libraries) and select 5 important legal cases that impact education. The cases may be either federal or state, or a combination of federal and state decisions. List the following:
1. The name of the case
2. The legal issues in the case
3. What the court decision was
4. Why this is an important educational case
5. Impact on you personally, or your family
6. Reactions
2. When anyone mentions Brown v. Board of Education, most students have some memory of learning about this landmark decision in high school and college courses.
