Paper 2 Overview
The topic from this paper arises out of our findings from Paper 1 and our readings regarding factors related to stress levels among Gen Z college students during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
We have two general research questions:
1) Does race of participant have an effect on Gen. Z college students level of stress?
IV or Quasi IV? Why?
Operational definition of DV= Score on self-report stress scale measured as 1= minimal to no stress 10= extreme stress.
2) Do Gen Z college students who access MH support groups or therapy experience lower stress levels during COVID-19, than students who do not access support groups or therapy? (Note: all participants indicated that their university offered some mental health services to students during the pandemic)
IV or Quasi IV? Why?
Operational definition of DV= Score on self-report stress scale measured as 1= minimal to no stress 10= extreme stress.

Annotated Outline Instructions
You are required to submit an ANNOTATED OUTLINE of your Paper 2. This is essentially a combination of the two assignments that preceded Paper 1 (the annotated bibliography and outline.) The annotations for this assignment may be shorter than they were for Paper 1, and you only need to annotate material for the Introduction. However, for this assignment you will outline all sections of your paper. A sample annotated outline from prior years can be found on the BB 1.
o ***PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN OUTLINE AND SHOULD BE STRUCTURED IN OUTLINE FORMAT (TOPICAL HEADINGS THAT ARE BULLET POINTED OR MARKED BY ALPHA-NUMERIC CHARACTERS.) EXCEPT FOR THE ANNOTATIONS IN THE INTRODUCTION EACH POINT SHOULD BE EXTREMELY BRIEF.__________.
Requirements:
o Fully outlined introduction section for upcoming Paper 2 sections
This should be a blueprint of your paper, including identification of the sections it will contain and a breakdown of the information that you will present in each.
Introduction (literature review): The outlined introduction should present an organized, thematic or topical structure of your introduction/literature review. It should present the arguments you are making to support your hypotheses, and link these arguments to relevant literature. Then, each piece of literature you plan to use in your written paper should be annotated, and that annotation inserted into the outline. Only the introduction of the Outline needs to be annotated NOT all sections.
The process of annotating literature should be the same for this exercise as for Paper 1, EXCEPT, your annotations may be slightly shorter. You should see the instructions for the Paper 1 Annotated Bibliography and the Sample Annotated Outline that has been supplied.
Your Outlined Introduction/literature review should culminate in clearly identifiable and correctly worded predictions or hypotheses for Paper 2.
o Briefly Outline the Method and Results: These sections can be a series of bullet points indicating what type of info you will put in each section-even if you do not have the exact numbers for any given item at the time you are writing. For example, under Method Section you may begin with Participants and it may look something like:
Participants: Number, where recruited, incentive, type of sample. Numbers by gender, numbers by race, etc. (or you could list these in your outline vertically as well).**You MAY NOT bullet-point in your paper.
o Discussion: This section should begin with a restatement of your hypotheses and whether we supported them or not. It should then list any other items, in order, that you plan to present in the Discussion Section. Among items that are appropriate for a Discussion section are:
Hypothesis/supported?
Meaning of findings
Compare findings to research cited in your introduction, and discuss important similarities and/or differences and how they relate to your overall theme or thesis. Compare to new literature (this is fine to add another citation)
Do your findings relate to an applicable theory-one that was mentioned in intro? Something else or new?
What were potential limitations or problems with our study? Design, measurement problems? Internal validity/external validity issues? Can we make absolute causal interpretation? Why, why not? Can you generalize to other groups and populations? Why, why not?
Implications of your findings for future research
Suggestions for conducting future research in this area.
HOW TO BEGIN ASSIGNMENT?
o Conduct your literature search based on our hypotheses.
Note: You may use some or all of your literature from Paper 1 if it applies. However, you must have a minimum of six (6) articles and at least three (3) of them need to be new and specific
