Does the essay make a coherent argument with supporting evidence?

Directions: Respond to the following question in a typed (double-spaced, 12 pt. font, 1 margins) essay of approximately 5 pages. You can use any and all course materials books, articles, notes, videos to inform your answer. If you quote an author on the syllabus, provide a page number in parentheses at the end of the relevant sentence. I do not expect you to use the work of other authors. However, if you do, provide a complete citation in Chicago Style, footnote/endnote format. T. Upload and submit your exam to the dropbox provided there.

To evaluate your answers, I will use these criteria:

Does the essay demonstrate knowledge of the material?

Does the essay make a coherent argument with supporting evidence?

Is the essay organized well?

Does the essay say something interesting in response to the question?

Did the author proofread and correct for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style?

QUESTION: Allan Bloom concludes his essay, The Democratization of the University, asking this question: Is liberal democracy conceivable in the absence of the liberal university? Write an essay that compares how supporters of liberal and conservative ideology might respond. Your essay should focus on the relationship between democracy and education in each ideology and present arguments from the readings that you find most relevant on the topic. Finally, you should conclude your essay with you own views on the role of education in a democratic society. Be sure that your answer discusses tensions within as well as between liberal and conservative thinkers.

I included the pdf, it is the second essay.
