E- Cigarettes

Your participation involves writing a report that
summarizes two ideas communities could implement to address the concern of e-cigarette use by
adolescents and young adults and the resulting progression toward cigarette use. In addition, theyve
asked you to support your ideas through your analysis and evaluation of the articles previously
referenced. Consult the What to Include section below for specific instructions.
What to Include
1. First, analyze and evaluate data published within the two articles provided one published by
Cullen et al., and the other published by Primack et al. (see Resources). Consider your
responses to the following questions to help you construct your analysis and evaluation:
Do the available data help communities identify strategies to address e-cigarette and cigarette
use? Are the data relevant to all communities?
What conclusions can we definitely draw about the attitudes Americans carry toward ecigarette and cigarette use?
What are the limitations of the data? What areas should we collect additional data for before
drawing a definitive conclusion?
2. Second, utilize your analysis and evaluation of the data to identify two ideas communities could
implement to address e-cigarette use and the progression toward cigarette use. The CDC ecigarette page is a good place to start developing ideas and to gain further background
understanding. Discuss both ideas in your report by using logic. For this purpose, explain the
significance of your evidence through your analysis and evaluation of the data presented in
either or both article(s).
