-Our case: Cancer Alley in Louisiana
-For the discussion portion where you have to choose an area of focus, please choose the HISTORICAL area of focus where we are pointed in the direction of how the people and pollution come to occupy the same space in our case. This can be from racism, redlining, white flight, land-use zoning and/or other factors that lead to the negative outcomes seen in our case.
-A minimum of 5 ACADEMICALLY ACCEPTABLE sources are required and so are 2 cited VISUALS like maps of zoning, charts/graphs, tables etc.

“For my final paper I will be writing about Cancer Alley in Louisiana and how the pollution there is disproportionately affecting communities of color. It is about a 100 mile corridor along the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans and is lined with chemical plants for much of the way. It has been and still is producing increased rates of cancer among people who live there. Due to racism and racist zoning policies, the people who live in this alley and suffer the most are primarily people of color.”
