Students will write a 2-3 page essay describing how you find information about the world/community/interests/hobbies. Then, you will describe how you validate this information to be true/accurate. Students should take a stand on how accurate/true their media sources are and show/prove how they can validate (prove true) this information. In other words, this is not a history of journalism. This essay will show where you get your news about the world, information on your interests, and an explanation on how you prove this information to be accurate. Students will also provide a works cited page, written in the format as shown in the module.
This assignment will contain:
1. An introduction paragraph
2. Thesis statement in last sentence of the intro
3. Body paragraphs that contain one quote sandwich, written in the quote sandwich format shown in previous module
4. Conclusion paragraph that starts with restated thesis and brings the essay to a close, which does not summarize the points already given
5. MLA formatted Works Cited Page
