It should feature a refined selection of peer reviewed journals and other academic sources in order to identify a specific topic worthy of a research project.
Topic areas will focus on one aspect of the BSc Sports Studies degree; Development, Management, Sociology or Coaching/Teaching. The literature review should provide a thorough appraisal of the chosen sources and follow a logical, cohesive and progressive structure. Review Structure:The literature review should encompass the following sections:Overview: Succinct introduction to the research area and relevance.
General Concept: Discussion of the general concepts and theories as they relate to the general research area.Specific Concept(s): A more in-depth discussion of the specific concepts, theories and conceptual models as they relate to the research area.
Key Critical Studies (specific): Evaluation of specific critical studies that have relevance to your research area.
Summary: Conclusion of key points making literature based inferences.
Aims of YOUR study: Outline the aims and main focus of your study. Please ensure that you do NOT write the aims of your study in 1st person.
