Read Lincoln Mullen’s article on mapping the Domestic Slave Trade: These Maps Reveal How Slavery Expanded Across the United States (Links to an external site.)
Explore the map and website, The Forced Migration of Enslaved People in the United States (Links to an external site.), to develop an argument about the experiences of enslaved people during forced migration.
Explore the map through the different time periods (decades) to examine trends in out- and in-migration of the domestic slave trade
Examine closer by comparing to regions over time.
Explore the narratives over time and regions
Chose at least 3 specific examples (3 data points and 3 narratives) and write a paragraph (200-400 words) that you consider are important to understanding change and continuity in the forced migration of enslaved people over time.
Briefly describe the data points and narratives
Explain why you think these examples are important to our understanding of the Domestic Slave Trade
