This is a simple paper that will explore the topic question, copied again here:
“For what reasons did the United States become involved in a coup d’etat in Iran in 1953?”
The focus should be from the American perspective. The paper needs to explore who were the key decision makers and why they chose to conduct this coup d’etat in Iran. Provided in the attachment are some sources I already began to gather, and an example paper to use as a template.
The paper MUST follow the Rampolla Chicago style guide (also attached). Lastly, please use as many “primary” sources as you can. “Primary” in this instance meaning first hand accounts, journals, memorandums, etc.
I’ve included a bibliography I had already started with some good sources in it. Also two primary documents I haven’t read through yet and a link to the state departments file on the incident. The bibliography is formatted the way the final paper needs to be as well, with sources separated by type.
I think this is a really interesting topic, wish I had more time to read it and I hope you enjoy it!
