For the annotated bibliography, make sure you have included at least 5 resources. These resources can be books, journal articles, or online websites. Also, try to have at least 3 scholarly and 2 popular. Scholarly usually includes books and journal articles. Popular typically consists of newspapers, magazines, and blogs. However, the best way to figure out whether a resource is scholarly or popular is to check out the author and publisher.

Remember: an annotated bibliography is a technical document. Make sure to follow MLA rules for indentations and resource information.

A good annotation includes a summary of the source, a brief detailed account of main ideas, an evaluation/analysis of the source, and a plan for the source, i.e. where and when you plan to use it in your own research/essay. Specificity is key. Each annotation should be about 100-150 words, a well-developed paragraph.
