How do parties, the media, and voters identities potentially affect partisan polarization?

Are Americans polarized or sorted? Are all Americans equally polarized? How do parties, the media, and voters identities potentially affect partisan polarization? The paper is expected to follow an introductory, body,
and concluding paragraph structure. A thesis outlining a clear argument, and around which the
rest of the paper is organized, is expected at the end of the introductory paragraph. Body
paragraphs should relate to the thesis in a way that helps develop the central premises of the
paper. The concluding paragraph should restate the thesis (in different words), reminding the
authors audience of what has been argued and demonstrated in the paper; the conclusion will
also state the implications of the paper, that is, what are the big messages to be drawn from the authors work? References to contemporary data or case examples will help illuminate the
authors central points and add strength to the paper.

Papers should be 6-8 pages words in length, not including the bibliography. Standard format needs to be followed also, with 1-inch margins, and 12-point size font.
Beyond any class resources you draw on for your paper, I require that you use at least six scholarly sources. This is in addition to any high-quality newspaper, magazine, internet, etc., sources you may consult for your paper.
Possible sources of materials include library search engine, Lexus Nexus (for relevant newspaper/magazine articles) also via the library, and Google Scholar (which can be linked to your university account). You can also consult and use sources that are cited in the textbook.
Use American Political Science Association (APSA) citation. Guidelines on this available on Blackboard.
