1) This course will be presented as is a general survey of topics taken from the suggested textbook, the lectures, case studies, and other contemporary materials as presented during the scheduled class time.
2) Motivated students will be able to acquire a comprehensive overview and understanding of the small group process, and the role played by the psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker and other mental health professionals in the criminal justice system when utilizing small group therapeutic interventions. Additionally, small group dynamics in business, professional and social relationships will be covered.
3) Conscientious student will be offered an opportunity to learn about the psychological theories of group process, and the evolution of specific group treatment models, both in the general therapeutic community and within the extended criminal justice system from the perspective of a career clinical and forensic psychologist.
