Include one recommendation in your response that policy makers should implement to help reconnect students to college/higher education and their American dream.
paragraph 2: (answer to this comment)
One way that institutions and policymakers can better support their students is by providing more programming that includes teaching students about financial literacy. As students of low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, and attendees of for-profit institutions are more likely to take out more loans, internal institutional policymakers can create intentional spaces for these students to learn about financial literacy in regards to their student loans. However, it is important to not limit the discussion of student loans, but also provide content relevant to building a greater understanding of financial concepts and practices. Within the article attached below, it portrays five institutions and what they are doing to tackle the financial literacy crisis. As Monica said, this issue cannot be solved with only one approach. Therefore, one way to tackle the issue of increasing student debt is to teach students most likely to take out more loans about financial literacy.
