Displaying data in charts and graphs, such as histograms, pie charts, and bar charts can make the data easier for your audience to interpret. How would you display your data, and what are the benefits of that approach?
Wow, this is a tough one. I really do believe that charts and graphs make a big difference in presentation. I learned about SPSS in a previous course. I found it interesting to use. It is a very useful resource. Once you know how to use SPSS, all you really need to do is plug in the information. SPSS can do a lot of the difficult math for you. Practice should be a primary focus. Histograms can be very easy to understand. For that reason, I believe that is the best way to display my information. Excel also offers pie charts and graphs. It is a great tool that can be useful. According to ASQ (n.d.), histograms are best used when working with numbers, when you want to see the shape of the datas distribution, and when you want to communicate the distribution of data quickly and easily to others. Those are a lot of benefits to my approach. Terrorism is very important to me. I see it every day. It can really be the difference between success and failure. I think my histogram has the ability to point out the distributive effects of terrorism. Its very difficult to think straight when someone is blurting out a lot of words at you. I may want to understand the average amount of terrorist attempts that are related to the current sentencing law. Since that information is very broad, I can narrow it down to one state (for example New York). When we can understand how many attempts it takes for a terrorist attack to be successful, a mathematical component to sentencing laws can be found (i.e. the conditions as to harsher punishments). Should stricter protocols be mandated on the first attempt in order to teach a lesson? My histogram could be able to answer that question.
