According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) approximately 65% of Americans are considered overweight or obese. Researchers have found a variety of factors involved in the difficulty many people have to maintain a healthy body weight. In this writing assignment, you will explore theories of motivation, the causes of hunger, and how they relate to obesity.
THE ASSIGNMENT (Meets Module Objective 3):
READ and review the sections in your textbook regarding Motivation and Hunger.
TYPE a 2 page (minimum) to 3 page (maximum), double-spaced essay addressing the following:
How would you respond to someone who said: “Obesity is simply a matter of eating too much.” Is it really that simple? Why or why not?
Describe the theory of motivation you think BEST explains the concept of hunger and WHY?
Discuss how biological and cultural/social factors are involved in hunger.
BASE your paper on current research, not your personal opinion.

Always integrate at least 3 paraphrased concepts, terms, or facts from the current TEXTBOOK readings in your assignments.
