Introduction
Your Learning Contract assignment ensures that you have clearly defined work assignments and
responsibilities during your placement. It also allows you to identify 3-5 main learning
objectives that you particularly want to achieve during placement.
Assignment
Develop a list of tasks that are your assignments or responsibilities as a placement student. This
may include observation, client interaction, documentation, reading or other activities. Make a
list of these tasks on page 3 of your learning contract template and submit
Identify three to five main learning objectives that you would like to achieve during placement.
These may range from very general to very specific but should clearly identify what you will
learn during this placement. Think of what learning experiences you were hoping to achieve,
when completing this part of the assignment. Fill out the first page and second page of your
learning contract, completing your chart to explain how you will achieve these 3-5 learning
objectives in placement, how you will know the goal has been achieved
Tasks
Using the template provided complete all sections of the learning contract
o Identify 3-5 specific learning objectives
o Identify the steps you will take to achieve each learning goal
o Identify objective, measurable indicators of success
o Identify how (objective criteria) you will be evaluated
Learning Contracts must be submitted on Blackboard on the scheduled due date. Late
assignments will be penalized five percentage marks per day (including weekends) up to 10
days past the due date. After the 10 day period, the student will be granted a 0 on that
assignment, unless alternative arrangements have been made with the faculty. Assignments
will not be accepted after the last day of the semesters classes regardless of the due date
