A critical analysis IS NOT an argument for or against the topic of your chosen essay, and a critical analysis IS NOT just a summary of the essay.

As this is an essay, it should have an introduction with a clear thesis stating your position on the article you have chosen. Your essay should also have at least three body paragraphs that provide support and detail of your thesis. For instance, one body paragraph might state that a specific piece of the essays evidence is strong, and then you would want to show how that specific piece of evidence is strong. The body paragraphs will support your position both through the information you provide from the essay and from your own analysis of that information. The conclusion should re-emphasize your main points. As this is a formal piece of writing, I expect you to proofread carefully, avoiding spelling, mechanical, and grammatical errors. As mentioned earlier, this essay will include a work cited page, when revised. All of this must be done in MLA format.
