This is a LITERATURE REVIEW paper, I already have done it, but my PI needs me to do lots of changes.
these are the requirement format from the school for the LIT REVIEW.
1) A tentative Title for the Literature Review paper
2) An Introduction section describing the topic in general terms and why the topic is important. This
section should be a brief and focused 1-3 paragraph narrative.
3) A Literature Review section describing the major and minor topics (points) to be addressed in the
paper
4) A Study Questions section listing potential questions that could be studied. These questions should
be as specific as possible and should be clearly related to the review of the literature.
FORMATTING GUIDELINES FOR LITERATURE REVIEW PAPER:
Title Page including:
Title of Paper
Author, Current Degree(s) held
Institutional Affiliation
Review of Literature (a minimum of 15 pages of double-spaced text in length, not including references,
figures, appendices, etc.)
References:
Use EndNote reference manager program to insert your citations
Begin references on separate page
Minimum of 30 peer-reviewed articles (35-50 is average)
Numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text
General Format:
Double spaced (throughout from title page through references)
Grammar will be evaluated. Do not use first person language. Avoid editorializing, the use of
clichs, direct quotes, and passive voice.
Left margin 1.5 inches from edge of paper to text
Right margin 1 inch from edge of paper to text
Top margin 1 inch from top of paper to text
Bottom margin 1 inch from bottom of paper to text
Page numbers Arabic numbers (i.e. 1, 2, 3), the first text page is numbered page 1. The
digit is aligned with right edge of paper, centered between bottom of paper and the text.
Font Regular, 12-point Arial must be used.
And these are the changes that my PI asked me to do to the paper
1) What citation software are you using and what citation style? Change the style to have the references be a number at the end of the sentence, like [1] in the same font/color style. The whole document should be black, Times New Roman, 12, regular or bolded for subsection titles. You can use PLoS or something like that. Ensure all citations are the same style and grouped at the end of the sentence. I believe you need 30 unique primary literate papers, so links to the CDC and WHO dont count. If you need help with this, I am happy to walk you through this process!
2) You currently have content that is pasted from other sources. This will be an automatic failure and is plagiarism. All of the sentences must be your unique construction. Ensure everything that is written in your document is an original sentence written by only yourself.
3) Please go through your subsections and ensure only content directly related to that subsection is in the connected paragraphs. For example, you have content about the influenza pandemics under influenza virus classification.
Lets start with those structural changes and then go on from there!
