PART 1 – IDEOLOGY
In a paragraph, summarize your ideology. Refer back to your work in essay #1.
Part 1 should be about 1 paragraph.
PART 2 PUBLIC POLICY
Now that you have established an ideology, use your ideology to evaluate these policy issues:
-In a paragraph, what is proper role of government in terms of tax policy? Should government take a demand side or supply side approach to stimulating the economy? See chapter 15. Cite one additional source from the Lee College library databases to support your argument.
-In a paragraph, is poverty a structural or cultural issue? Should the government provide social welfare programs to the poor? See chapter 16. Cite one additional source from the Lee College library databases to support your argument.
-In a paragraph, what is the proper role of government in foreign policy? Should the government follow a unilateral, isolationist approach or a multilateral, internationalist approach to foreign affairs? See chapter 17. Cite one additional source from the Lee College library databases to support your argument.
Part 2 should be about 2 pages.
PART 3 – CONCLUSION
Given the complexity of public policy today, is democracy the best way to govern America, or should America be governed more like a republic? Think about chapters 1 and 2. Were the Founding Fathers right about having a republic instead of a democracy? No library sources are needed for part 3.
Part 3 should be about page.

3. Write in 3rd person, not 1st person. This is a formal research paper.
