This is a paper that needs to be heavily revised/rewritten.
The argumentative thesis:(From instructor)
A good, focused essay will concentrate on those ideas that lead to an interesting, argumentative thesis. Remember that an argumentative thesis for your paper will not seem obviously true to an intelligent reader who has read your text once; it should instead be something you need to persuade the reader of by providing evidence in support of your claim. Most of the time, good argumentative theses come from addressing the textual details of a story and drawing out their larger ramifications; basing your argument on interpretations of the details of a small number of passages is generally a good approach to writing a short, interpretive English paper.
I will provide textual evidence for you to incorporate but please DO NOT hesitate to ask if you need more/different evidence.
Topic #1: The intersection of identity and colonization in one or two stories from Bradburys Martian Chronicles.
Please feel free to begin essay from scratch if you find it harder to edit this one sufficiently. This essay barely makes sense, and there is no clear direction in the discussion. I also got notes on it saying “I’ve really tried hard to follow the discussion here, but it’s not easy. Many sentences here are just plain hard to figure out, and pronouns — he, they, it — come and go without clear referents”
The paper I am attaching is a C grade, so it really has to be noticeably improved.
The textual evidence I am including will be in an attached doc if you do not have access to this text. I will continue to add quotes after i submit this order as I just want to allow more time for you to edit the non contextual elements while I add quotes pertinent to the topic.
The source to be used and cited from (quotes with citations NOT PARAPHRASING) is from “The Martian Chronicles,” and must be included for credit. This book should be the ONLY source. The essay should look at the ideas of identity and colonization in at least ONE and NO MORE than the TWO following stories in Bradburys book: The Third Expedition, And the Moon Be Still As Bright,
Thank you so much for all that you do, this is a lifesaver.
