Introduction: Self and Project

Because you have been in the program for a while now, you have had many opportunities to get to know others in the group fairly well. For this introduction, we’re going to shift gears a bit. 1. Description of the type of facility by which you are employed.–ANSWER (I work in Psych/Substance Abuse department in the Bronx).
2. Your current position and for how long–ANSWER (I’m a detox/rehab nurse, and I’ve been working in the facility for 5 years).
3. Your prior experience in financial management
4. Share the PICO(T) you anticipate using for the final practicum project.
5. What led you to choose this issue/topic? With whom have you collaborated, or will you consult about the issue at your facility?
6. What type of expenses/costs would you need to consider in helping you develop a preliminary budget for your project?

BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT ME TO BE INCORPORATED INTO ASSIGNMENT.

My name is Abena Nyantakyiwaa, and I live in New York. I came to America in 2007 and started my career as a Patient Care Technician in 2008 in the ER. With my job at the time being limited to phlebotomy, EKG’s and vital signs, a part of me felt dissatisfied, and thought I could do more.

I went back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, then later an RN. I received my undergraduate degree from Helene Fuld College of Nursing in New York, then continued with Grand Canyon University online program for my BSN. I worked in pediatrics, adult medicine and specialty clinics for a couple of years. Currently, I work at impatient detox/rehab facility, and I’ve been working there for 5 years now.

The PICOT I anticipate using for my final practicum project is the one from NR505 which states ” In minority groups with fixed income under $30,000 (P), how do deploying insurance covers (I) compared to not deploying insurance covers (C) contribute to a 30% reduction of inpatient hospitalization and death cases (O) over a period of eight weeks (T)?
