Numerical (CFD) and analytical methods are to be used to analyse the hub leakage flow in a jet engine compressor/turbine stator/rotor blade. Sensitivity of the leakage flow to different gaps and geometrical arrangements are of interest. Numerical data thus obtained is to be studied and compared with simple analytical models. The project is predominantly numerical and a commercial CFD code would be used. Most importantly, post-processing of results would require extensive use of MATLAB.
