Motivational letter for application to a MSc in Quantitative Finance at BI Norwegian Business School. The admission essay might include the following:- Currently admitted to the “Pathway to Quantitative Finance” programme, which allows students who excel in academia at BI to take on master subjects at the third year of the bachelors degree to qualify for the MSc in Quantitative Finance.- I want to pursue this degree due to my high interest in the quantitative finance field.- I want to contribute to further develop the quantitative aspect of asset management in Norway.- My dream job is managing a hedge fund which strictly uses mechanical/systematic rules and is quantitative driven.- Started my own investment/trading firm were we employ quantitative aspects to our investment strategies.- High interest for derivative securities, especially option contracts.- Fascinated by quantitative risk-management.- Use all my sparetime analyzing the financial markets, with a particular interest for the American stock market.- Former army veteran with a deployment to iraq. Served in Telemark Batallion for 4 years- Currently on my third year on a Bachelor in Finance at BI Norwegian Business School, with an average grade of A.- Especially interested in subjects such as mathematics, statistics and programming.- Currently employed as a learning assistant at BI Norwegian Business School. Here i teach in subjects such as math, statistics and other quantitative subjects. I have also teached as a drop-in mentor and one-to-one tutoring.- I have been eyeing this degree since the day I started my first year at BI Norwegian Business School, and there is nothing else I would rather study than Quantitative Finance/Financial Engineering.
