Developing Measurable Objectives INACSL Standards of Best Practice, Outcomes and Objectives criteria recommend that the simulation design be constructed with determined outcomes. S.M.A.R.T. objectives are needed based on the expected outcomes. – Create 2 to 4 learning objectives based on the INACSL Standards of Best Practice Outcomes and Objectives Criterion 2, S.M.A.R.T. elements. Label the learning domain that each objective will address (psychomotor, cognitive, affective).- Discuss why you developed the learning objective and how it will help the participant achieve the learning outcomes. Include a brief summary of your scenario design, level of learner, the unit or course and vulnerable patient population.- How will you evaluate the participant/learner (formative or summative)? How will you incorporate the learning objectives in the debriefing process? Would you like to use an evaluation tool (checklist)?- Explain how you verified the objectives with your faculty and how they are appropriate for the learner.
